Richmond (ISP) – ISP has released new guidance and tools to assist localities with developing provisioning boundaries. These resources are available on the Virginia NG9-1-1 Resources page. Provisioning boundaries are a building block of NG9-1-1 implementation that organizes which entity submits GIS data into the Next Generation Core Services for use in the Spatial Interface for a particular area. Similar to PSAP boundaries, PSAP and GIS staff from each locality need to work together and with PSAP and GIS staff from each of their neighbors to understand roles and reach mutual agreement on the boundary.
