Hazard Mitigation Assistance Grants Equity Workshops

Event Description
The Virginia Department of Emergency Management is undertaking an outreach strategy to local governments that have been identified and prioritized as having the highest risk of vulnerable populations within a coastal or river flood zone. The first phase of outreach includes 40 localities that scored the highest in this regard, and this process will be expanded in the future to include additional localities. The goal is to provide local governments with the information and appropriate technical assistance and tools to apply for and administer FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance grants to protect the most vulnerable.
